1) We are really impressed with the quality of the blogs and the answers so far! Remember, in self-directed training, the more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it.
2) There are A LOT of people who feel nervous, scared, anxious, or dumb. You are not alone, as you'll discover if you explore other staff blogs! Just relax and have fun.
3) No "private" blogs, please. This is meant to be a social training, where everyone interacts. Feel free to use a pseudonym if you wish to remain anonymous, but do let other staff read your blog.
4) If you are blogging on other topics, please create new posts for this training. Put "2.0" in the post title, and "label" it with "2.0" as well (in the box at the bottom right). At the end of the training, we'll be looking through hundreds of blogs to see who completed everything. PLEASE make your posts easy to find!
5) It's okay to ask for help. Talk to others at your branch, or contact Heather or Katie. We are here to help you!
6) Need an example of how this might look? Check out Katie's blog: http://carpecardigan.blogspot.com/

Many people only have a few minutes at the desk to complete the assignment. I am concerned many won't be able to do the assignment to the best of their ability due to time constraints. Not all staff have off desk time to complete the task. Just thought I would mention the concerns people have come to me with. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteHi Alanna, as creators of CPL 2.0, we have created the questions and tasks so that they can be completed at the Circ and Info desks. As ficilators we have no control over when or how people fulfill the requirements of the program (much like ficilators of any RIS program). If staff are finding it difficult to complete tasks, we have asked that they discuss this with their managers or supervisors.
ReplyDeleteI think Alanna is right. I am currently not at work at Fish, and having to do "something" with this assignment at home. I am a sub and sorry there isn't enough on the circ desk to try to do what you need to do without interuption. Tried once had to help customers and then got busy and left to go home and completely forgot that I was doing the 2.0 and lost what I had done. So working from home is the option.
ReplyDeleteAs we already stated, unfortunetly as facilitators of this RIS training we cannot do anything regarding issues with time to work on the training. Please sddress this issues with your Manager or scheduler.
ReplyDeleteThank-you.
